  • The highlight of the campaign happened during Blood on the Altar when Kidnapped! was drawn 8 times. At one time Dr. William T. Maleson cancelled one Kidnapped! and turned it into another Kidnapped!
  • The most noticeable absence is of course Higher Education. As it turns out, aside from hunting Broods of Yog-Sothoth, I've never felt constricted by not being able to directly boost or . I was instead free to limit the draw effects to just core skill cards and cut all the resource-generating cards.
  • Since there's little pressure to keep your hand filled and there are no other investigators in solo Minh's signature Analytical Mind loses much of its utility. In this deck it's relegated to the role of third Unexpected Courage.
  • In contrast Minh's signature weakness is as impactful as ever. It's one of the reasons I went for one-handed Fire Axe rather than the two-handed Baseball Bat.
  • Fire Axe is the only resource sink in this deck. This means Mihn can often attack at 8 , but can't expect much in terms of action compression. It's important to get Acidic Ichor as soon as possible.
  • Lantern's main role is sniping Whippoorwills and finishing off enemies. Its investigation bonus is nice, but in solo Lantern definitely edges out Magnifying Glass.
  • Saving Professor Warren Rice was a mistake. The single token brought me much grief during the campaign and the professor himself rarely saw play. Having either Dr. William T. Maleson or Stray Cat or both on the table almost always took priority.
  • That being said, Extracurricular Activity should be the first scenario, because it's by far the best time to identify the solution and translate the glyphs. Of course, as the campaign log shows, it's not always possible.
  • The XP budget was much tighter than I've expected it to be. I wasn't able to cycle the exile cards and only used them in the final scenario.
  • In general Minh is a mediocre if not outright poor choice for soloing Dunwich. I was close to failing multiple scenarios and pulled off victories mostly due to the chaos bag being generous, enemy avoidance provided by Dr. William T. Maleson and test-less evasion via Stray Cat.

Cool deck ....

I found lab assistant a better ally since she helps with hand size and card draw.

how did you manage to overcome her weakness?? It means having 3 cards to hand with the same icons...

and how did you cope with hunters? I can see pathfinder helps, but have you tried Snare. That would give you two whole turns (6 actions) before dealing with the hunter

Better than whom? It seems to me that the assistant is a nice ally to have, but both the cat and Maleson are livesavers.

No special plan for mitigating her weakness, just commit cards as soon as they're available. Same goes for hunters, just killing them or evading and escaping is the usual solution.

Sadly, I have to agree, Minh is a support Investigator. This I understood after playing through the first scenario, which for me was Extracurricular Activitys. Not wanting to cast her aside, I brought in Mark Harrigan to shore things up, which worked quite well as Minh's Analytical Mind is a big advantage to him. I used Peter Sylvestre and Dr. Milan Christopher as Allys. Good choice with Pathfinder and Lucky. I only put in two named cards. I never managed to get Strange Solution transformed, but kept it in case. There seems to be a lack of clue discovering cards in your deck, was that intentional? I had 6 in my deck at the start and 6 at the end. The thing in solo is at best she needs the cards that allow her to fight with her , but she can't run either and unless she's loaded down with clues, fighting is laborious. I'll give your deck a try in solo to see if there's a comparison to be made. She is one of my favorite support investigators as her signature implies.

I don't have much clue-related cards, because Minh's 4 is generally enough. I've even considered swapping Deduction for Perception.
