This is the first deck draft for blind run into the Dream-Eaters.
The intended role for Tommy is to soak-up horror/damage for the whole team, hence fueling Becky and make sure enemies keep dying.
Every 3rd card in the deck is either damage or horror soak which ensures that Becky will always have ammo.
Initial upgrades can be either Guard Dog Brother Xavier and Unexpected Courage Ace of Swords [4 exp.], or Guard Dog Beat Cop, and Unexpected Courage Bandolier [8 exp.]. Both options yield +1 , and +1 , but have pros and cons - the first one is cheaper experience wise, grants more soak for allies, and does not compete with Body slot, while the second one is more flexible for enemy handling, and allows to hold on to Flashlight/Survival Knife when you find Becky. Alternatively, instead of Ace of Swords one can also pick Reliable which essentially will play the same role.
I've always wanted to try out Blood Eclipse, and Tommy Muldoon seems like the perfect guy for card. The spell can quickly kill off True Grit for fast cash back and serious damage at good odds. You can also let Brother Xavier explode for extra fireworks.

Oct 16, 2019Resourceful so you can reuse the cheap soaks? Maybe A Chance Encounter for same reason? I’d also add another 2 damage weapon until you get Becky. |
Oct 16, 2019Resourceful would only be useful if a treachery (Crypt Chill or Corrosion) hits you. Otherwise the soak gets shuffled back in anyway |
Oct 31, 2019Yeah, Tommy shuffles his soaks back in, so I'd pass on Chance Encounter. I'd run more treachery protection (Steadfast or Take the Initiative) and another ally and another weapon. Since you are gettings your allies killed on the regular having enough to draw into is important. Grab Beat Cop unless one of your teammates could really use Venturer. Another weapon because Becky and Prepared for the Worst isn't enough and Survival Knife only works its wonder in the enemy phase. Enchanted Blade is the obvious pick there. I prefer running Bandolier in Tommy over Leather Coat, but that's not necessarily correct. I think you probably can take out the Flashlight and Stunning Blow. Unexpected Courage is probably better off being Take the Initiative or Steadfast. |
I can see this doing well if there's another fighter in the group and/or the easier difficulties. I started a 2p Hard run of Return to PtC and finding I need to get to 8 fight to have any hope of reliable fighting.
