Call me dump, but I just like Dream-Enhancing Serum and I'm trying to find creative ways to make good use of it...

This is a cluever Jenny build that focuses on maximizing value from Dream-Enhancing Serum and tries to make good use of all those cards she is going to get into her hand. To achieve this we are building towards a cluever + semi-evader deck that gains value from the most standard Rogue cards that offer card draw, namely, Lucky Cigarette Case and Pickpocketing, but we 're also packing some standard neutral skill cards that help us achieve our goals while offering more card draw. Our goal isn't to draw our entire deck every game, but to get the pay-off of all this card draw. That would be Fortuitous Discovery at the early stages of the game, but later it's also going to be Easy Mark and Three Aces.

I'd like to note here that this deck is completely untested save some dump tests in the card-draw simulator and it could be a total failure, but given all this card draw we have we are very likely to get some good results. Fortuitous Discovery is a very strong card when you can get all 3 copies in your hand and this is where my hope of success lies.

A small note here on Jenny's weakness, Searching for Izzie: It's gonna be one hell of a problem. Your best bet is to draw it early (or not draw it at all) so that you don't have to chase a location on the other side of the map mid-late game and hope it doesn't land on a 4+ shroud location. Otherwise, the boost on Perception and Intel Report will get you covered. Later, the addition of Momentum can make this task easier.

On another note, if you think Dream-Enhancing Serum is going to fail spectacularly, you can instead go for Laboratory Assistant and grab Charisma. The deck isn't very XP demanding anyway. Both Laboratory Assistant and Dream-Enhancing Serum fulfill the same role, the difference being that the Serum can get you significantly more card draw if used well. If, on the other hand, you like more basic stuff, then Laboratory Assistant is probably the card for you.

The deck is a little complex to run. The level 0 version is more simple to run but harder to get results. You'd need Dario El-Amin's boosts for the as well as try to save at least 1 Flashlight for Sleight of Hand. If you 're lucky enough to get all 3 Fortuitous Discoveries you 're certainly going to do well.

The upgraded version is a bit more complex but more effective. First off, you need your Lockpicks and Lola Santiago down asap in order to start working. This setup is supplemented by Flashlight, Lucky Cigarette Case, Trench Coat/The Moon • XVIII, Lone Wolf, Pickpocketing, and of course Dream-Enhancing Serum. With these assets down you 'll be able to gather clues fast while drawing cards at good pace. As for the Serum, in order to maximize the card draw you get from it, you need to hold on to your cards so that you get additional card draw from drawing second copies of cards you have in hand. That means you should try to not use them right away. Cards like Perception and Manual Dexterity that offer more card draw are good to spend but the more you hold on to them the more payoff you 're going to get. This rule also applies to Easy Mark of course. If you draw a second Easy Mark with the Serum down, you 're effectively drawing 3 cards and get 4 resources for 1 action and these numbers can go even higher if you happen to draw a third copy. A slight issue the deck has is the large number of assets we 're packing. Unfortunately, they are all important for the deck's good performance and there's not much I can do ease the burden. The only thing that can be made is to cut The Moon • XVIII, but then you 're less guarranteed to trigger Pickpocketing, unless you would cut that one too. With such changes though, I'm not sure whether the deck is going to have solid card draw, but you can try it.

Upgrades:

This is your core toolkit and this is where the deck will start to shine. If you manage to get that far, I'm pretty sure the deck is going to be pretty good. You will then be a solid clue-gatherer that can take care of himself as well as contribute to the team in many ways and possibly be able to pass a particularly hard and important test with Three Aces.

More upgrades:

  • Momentum: Remember how I said this is good to clear your weakness? That's why you should get it. Use it in conjunction with Lockpicks to get the shroud reduction, then clear the weakness. Pretty good. It's also great for landing those Fortuitous Discoveries and handy for clearing annoying treacheries that stay on the table like Frozen in Fear.

  • Pickpocketing (2): Not particularly important, but it's nice to have the option of whether you want the resource or the card. Sometimes, you 'll also get both and the change to Fast is also good.

  • Lucid Dreaming: How about finding those pay-off cards we talked about earlier sooner? Get your Fortuitous Discoveries or Three Aces in no-time!

  • Emergency Cache (3): Given how Flashlight comboes with Lola Santiago it's worth considering resupplying it. Just think that every Flashlight supply discounts Lola Santiago's ability by 2 resources. Or to put it in another way, if this combination is used well, every Flashlight supply is worth 2 clues.

  • Streetwise: Ouch! At 8 XP this is rather expensive, but lacking more options it can be worth it. You are Jenny after all.

  • Another Day, Another Dollar: This is just ok. Lacking other options you can get this too.

And... that's about it! Thanks for reading and hope you liked the idea :) If you try this out please inform me about how the deck performed. I'm really curious to find out and I'm not expected to try this anytime soon as I only play solo this period.

I tried this deck out for Circle Undone. And... it's really didn't work out. Too little card draw to get the serum going and Fortuitous Discoveries were difficult to land where you needed them. And Circle Undone has several 4 shroud locations that became huge speed bumps. The deck did perform okay when all the pieces were in play (Lola and lockpicks and Serum and lots of Myriad cards) but really struggled when even a single piece was missing. Circle Undone is a hard campaign by default, tho'.

Scout Ahead is great for Searching for Izzy.
