This is one of my early decks, used in a two-handed solo blind run through Dunwich with this Jenny deck.

Because I didn't have Lockpicks, Pete and Duke were in charge of clues and Jenny was doing more of the fighting, but they were two generalists who could each do some of both things.

Upgrades Made

Looking at these upgrades I was clearly experimenting to see what worked. That bit where I removed a Milan Christopher and then added him back later kills me. But you have to learn stuff somehow.

And the Dark Horse/Scrapper/Fire Axe mechanic where you can funnel all your resources into boosting your stats with Scrapper and Fire Axe and then, once you're out of resources, get more stat boosts from Dark Horse and a damage boost from Fire Axe? That's pretty fun.

It's a really great deck given how few packs you need to build it. My only gripe is that Scavenging have really few items to target.

@olahren Thanks! And I think that’s a good criticism — with the only Items in the deck being Fire Axe, Mag Glass, and a single Rabbit’s Foot, and no competition for hand or accessory slots so no reason to discard them intentionally, Scavenging was only useful for a handful of Dunwich treacheries (that I didn’t even know about when I build the deck!) That’s probably why it didn’t get replaced with some higher level card — I’m guessing if I’d played this deck in a different cycle I would have figured out that this wasn’t the right deck for Scavenging and I’d have replaced it.

Scavenging can also be used to commit the same item every turn, especially Rabbit's Foot with it's ? is nice. Grisly Totem can help here as well. Or recycle empty Flashlight, Leather Coats. For recycling I'd recommend Scavenging 2 so you don't spend an action to play the item.

Regarding Dark Horse and Fire Axe, Madame Labranche and Drawing Thin combo nicely with both, as they give you ressources which you can immediately spend with the axe (drawing thin + axe = + 2 difficulty but +4 attack).

This pete deck also has some nice combos, especially Calling in Favors with Duke.

@Django Thanks for the comment! When I built this deck I only had 2x core + Dunwich cycle + Carcosa deluxe, so didn't have the ability to do some of the cool combos you mention. But I do remember looking at the Hello Yes This Is Dog deck and being impressed with it.

Committing the Rabbit's Foot repeatedly and recycling it with Scavenging would have been a good idea, if I'd had the sense to include a second Rabbit's Foot in the deck! But I was new and didn't know much. (Publishing your old decks is embarrassing!)

That's fine, i was also new to the game at some point, my old decks are probably similar (even some experimental decks today may be).

Most of these combos aren't limited to pete, any (off) survivor will do. I'm currently playing parallel Agnes and Scavenging 2 with Leather Coat is pretty cool to fuel her ability, for example.

Side note, Scavenging 0 is effective in any seeker (added wtih Versatile) cause they easily succeed by 2 or more on most investigates.
