Introduction
I shall present thee to Daisy Walker, head scientist on the miskatonic archaeology department. In this build, Daisy gets promoted from librarian to be the lead of an archaeology expedition (very well suited for the forgotten age!). You will take as a mandatory first upgrade Miskatonic Archaeology Funding.
The team
Coming with her for an expedition: Dr. Milan Christopher, professor of entomology (Entomology is the study of insects and their relationship to humans, the environment, and other organisms), Whitton Greene and two Research Librarian carrying Daisy's books and sketches.
The books
Daisy has an untranslated copy of Archaic Glyphs which she will translate eventually ,turning into a spell. The other spell is Arcane Enlightenment that will give her more bookslots in case she doesn't find Daisy's Tote Bag.
The core books are naturally Encyclopedia and Old Book of Lore. I added Occult Lexicon to help her deal some damage and Medical Texts to heal from physical trauma, as Daisy is quite fragile.
The engine
Two of her allies: Dr. Milan Christopher and Whitton Greene boost her intellect, while proving resources and finding her crucial books respectively (Whitton Greene can trigger Astounding Revelation for more resources.) The third ally is the Research Librarian, which finds books and also triggers Astounding Revelation. Finally, Old Book of Lore can also be used every turn for free to trigger Astounding Revelation.
Resource generation is therefore made via Astounding Revelation with your search effects, and if you have Dr. Milan Christopher via finding clues as well. The deck has a lot of consistency with plenty of draw from Old Book of Lore which can always be found with Research Librarian. Lastly, Knowledge is Power is there to cycle repeated books and get free activations on books or the upgraded spell from Archaic Glyphs.
Survivality
Going on expedition is dangerous, as such, Daisy will use her high intellect to evade dangerous foes with Mind over Matter. If she idenfies the danger with Anatomical Diagrams she will have an easier time evading (if the enemy has 2 or less evasion value evasion is guaranteed unless tentacles token is drawn) . Anatomical Diagrams can also be used to help your mates to fight a monster. She can avoid nasty treacheries with Ward of Protection and if she gets cornered and escape is no option she can cast Blood-Rite from Occult Lexicon or Occult Invocation. She will heal injuries with Anatomical Diagrams (found with Research Librarian. And can heal mental trauma or terror treacheries with Logical Reasoning.
Closing thoughts
I made this deck for going blind into the forgotten era so it is very heavy on exploration theme, but it can be used on other campaigns albeit with less inmersion but equal efectiveness. I think the deck can perform well enough solo (as you have cards to grab clues, fight and evade) but Daisy expedition archaeologist can definetly be helped with a monster killer.
If you want to play with taboo list just swap 2xKnowledge is Power for 2xShortcut. Dr. Milan Christopher is still good with the taboo change.
