Paladin Zoey Samaras

Introducing the zealous monster slayer Zoey Samaras! In this thematic build Zoey taps power from her faith, channeling her determination to Smite the Wicked and support her teammates with various blessings. You should pair Paladin Zoey with at least a dedicated clue finder.

First, the weapons: A paladin wields imbued weapons represented as Enchanted Blade and Blessed Blade, which paired with Zoey's Cross will constitute the main ways delivering damage in a thematic and effective fashion.

Zoey's Blessed Blade will be fed on her righteous zeal, channeled by the sacred verses of her Book of Psalms, Keep Faith and Hand of Fate.

As a paladin, she not only protects her fellow investigators by directly hunting monsters, she can draw the most dangerous cards with "Let me handle this!" or advance her team resource generation with Stand Together. And if she has developed her faith enough, she can cancel treacheries with Ward of Radiance. The encounter deck is not scary for this holy warrior with cards like Second Wind and Hand of Fate. After an engagement, she finds mental relief reciting the verses of her Book of Psalms, after all, "If it bleeds..." it can be killed!.

Her companion of choice when going On the Hunt is Grete Wagner, fitting both thematically and mechanically, and helps to gather the clues that Zoey won't ve able to find by herself.

This build is indeed expensive, and while her monster engage resource generation helps, it is not enough. Because of that, before hunting she should perform a Rite of Sanctification to get discounts on her assets. She also has Stand Together and finally Emergency Cache , which can be pulled by Backpack.

Consistency is added in this deck in two ways: first Zoey gets extra draw by doing what she does best via Glory and Second Wind. Additionally, she carries aBackpack in which she may find her weapons: Blessed Blade &Enchanted Blade, the Book of Psalms, the Emergency Cache and even her monster slaying talisman: Zoey's Cross.

Updates:

The most important card to include into the deck is Enchant Weapon. You want two of them as it fits perfectly and is a great power spike. I would swap Rite of Sanctification as it is not really necesary with all the economy this deck already has. Plus, if Enchant Weapon is played on your Enchanted Blade you will already have your two arcane slots occupied, so there is no more place to spells!

Another expensive, yet very good upgrade is Timeworn Brand. I would swap out the Enchanted Blade, to preserve the Blessed Blade. The Holy Spear is another interesting alternative to Timeworn Brand (although it occupies both hands). For budget upgrade on the weapons you can get Enchanted Blade for better combat and horror soak.

After that, you can focus on other things like Emergency Cache and Backpack for better tutoring or "I've had worse…". But i will insist, the biggest and better upgrade you can toss in is Enchant Weapon and it should be prioritised.
