PILOTING

Purpose/Inspiration

I'd like to take a quick moment up-front to thank the posters that made the following decks as they helped me with considering various cards to attempt to include in this deck.

That all said the concept for this deck was to take a second run at Return to the Forgotten Age with my wife. (NO SPOILERS) based on our first playthrough of the campaign using the new survivor and seeker from Innsmouth, we decided to take a second run at this scenario with decks that are a little bit more designed to operate fully independently in an attempt to take a more difficult route through the scenario and get the Cher achievement. Given that we have (for reasons I hope are clear) decided to try out running 2 Rogues at the same time for the first time ever with the partner to this Deck being a Sefina Rousseau deck.

As a result of this being the first time we've ever tried to run two rogues in a deck I'm operating under the constraint that I can't use any unique cards that she is already going to be claiming for herself throughout the campaign. I'll try to update this as I go with any cards specifically barred that way.

Barred Cards:

Combat

The idea behind this deck is to avoid combat when possible and put enemies down quickly with in the situations where that makes sense (solo for small things, potentially as as a pair if something sufficiently nasty makes sense to take out). In service to that .25 Automatic is a great card we can drop when needed and with the upgraded version coming at the end of the Innsmouth Conspiracy set, you can even take a free shot when you evade.

Finn Edwards bonus Evade action will largely keep us out of trouble and on the move, especially aided by Track Shoes which can be used to make moves more efficient or give an easy test to Drawing Thin when you don't mind failing it.

Resource Generation

I already mentioned Drawing Thin, there is of course Lone Wolf. The Emergency Cache is in there really to help the first scenario get started and then be replaced with Pickpocketing once you can get it.

Encounter/Chaos protection

Generally speaking the way to handle badly suited encounters will be:

To help protect against rough chaos bag draws on test you should pass we have:

Action Compression

To try to save some actions you have Lucky Cigarette Case so you won't need draw actions very often, Nimble for the period free move, Slip Away keeps you from having to evade the same enemy every turn if you'll be hanging out there for a moment, or buy you some additional breathing room from a hunter.

In a particularly painful case from our first playthrough you could even (minor spoiler inside, click to expand): Take an action that turns an aloof enemy into a hunter, evade it with [Slip Away](/card/04232) and play [Nimble](/card/60317) into the check to get some distance towards your ultimate destination.

POTENTIAL UPGRADES

Core

Enhance Action Compression

Enhance Clueing

Enhance Chaos Protection

Enhance Fight

Enhance Resource Generation

Anywhere that I have a suggestion where you could remove Manual Dexterity or Unexpected Courage you could also remove Perception depending on how you feel the campaign is going relative to the stats that you have.

Edit: Also you can always fiddle a bit with the things you discard if you want to (ex. after I played the first scenario I got rid of Streetwise for Pickpocketing instead of dropping Emergency Cache (which I'll drop later my Tarot card which I decided to put off). Just make sure it makes sense to you the capability to you're losing for what you're improving.

Conclusion

Hopefully this deck is functional, as always I'm glad to take any comments that anyone has on how to potentially improve this deck. I've made a decent number of decks for ArkhamLCG (I haven't started the Innsmouth Conspiracy cycle yet as I'm waiting for the last pack to come out) but this is the first time I've published a deck on ArkhamDB.

At the minimum hopefully this gives someone else a good idea for a deck like many of you have done for me in the past.
