A friend of mine came up with the idea of abusing Dirty Fighting in Leo Anderson to scam out tons of free fighting actions and get tons of value. But you might be wondering: "How can Leo evade enemies to trigger Dirty Fighting?" The answer is Blur, Leo's base 4 allows him to effectively evade most enemies in the game and can lead to some absurd turns.

Try to draw and setup all the pieces of the combo while doing Guardian stuffs.
-
Once you get Dirty Fighting, Blur, Pickpocketing, an ally and a weapon in play, you are pretty much all set.
- Step 1: Successfully Evade an enemy with Blur
- Step 2: Trigger Dirty Fighting to get a free Fight action. Spend those actions on things like .25 Automatic or just simply punch them.
- Step 3: Rinse and Repeat on any enemies you need to kill. Play Contraband and One in the Chamber to reload when you need to.
Some advanced plays:
- Commit Daring, Quick Thinking or "Watch this!" to the Evasion test to get extra value like card draw, resources or extra action.
- Spend 1 charge of Blur for the "extra" extra action.
-
Trigger Pickpocketing after you evade for extra resources and card draw. Example of a big combo turn: Evade an enemy with Blur, committing Quick Thinking and "Watch this!", betting 3 resources. You succeed by 2 or more and spend 1 Blur charge for an extra action, while triggering Dirty Fighting and 2 Pickpocketing. Congratulation, you have evaded the enemy, draw 2 cards, gain 8 resources and have 3 extra actions to fight that enemy with +2 or do anything you want.
The deck only needs Dirty Fighting, 2 Pickpocketing and 2 Blur as core upgrades, the rest are all flexible so you can purchase anything that suits your playstyle. Here are some example build paths you can try:
Dirty Gunman
- Try Springfield M1903 as your main weapon and .25 Automatic as a sidearm. Use Bandolier or Quickdraw Holster to have an extra hand slot (Bandolier is better because it gives 1 more for the Blur test).
- Reload the guns with Contraband, Extra Ammunition or Swift Reload. All of these are Tactic and Supply so they can be searched and attached under Stick to the Plan.
Holy Spearman
- Boost your with Holy Rosary while giving your friends extra token to play with.
- Use Holy Spear as your main weapon and Blessed Blade as your sidearm. Throw in some other Blessed Guardian upgrades like Sacred Covenant, Blessing of Isis or even Nephthys for extra value.
Other cards to try out because I haven't:
- The Red Clock for extra skill value, actions and resources.
- Underworld Market to draw the combo pieces faster.
- Well Connected because the deck stacks up resources pretty quickly after you have both Pickpocketing in play.
- The deck is very reliant on drawing and setting up the combo to work efficiently so it's pretty weak early and require at least 10-15xp to start steamrolling the campaign.
-
You don't have to spend a charge on Blur everytime after evading, but Blur needs to have at least 1 charge remaining to start an Evasion test so spend those charges wiselyApparently we misplayed this but you still should spend the charges wisely.

Oct 10, 2023Yeah, Blur charges need to be spent every time to even evade, and then you MAY take one more action. It's just written weirdly, I too was confused when I played it the first time. Otherwise it's a wonderful deck idea, got to try it out! And props for a dirty old man Leo picture, that looks creepy AF xD |

Oct 13, 2023You must be a great fan of Leo! I don’t get why you would use a low for this as other rogues can also take all the combo pieces. You’re completely reliant on drawing blur to evade, which is far from guaranteed with only two in the deck.. |

Oct 19, 2023Did you consider including any ways to enable fights? I would expect some cards like "Let me handle this!", First Watch, or On the Hunt… |
You do need to spend a charge when you succeed on Blur. It's not optional.
