This is a flex Leo who aims to farm low-threat enemies while raking in clues from an ever-replenishing team of Field Agents

You have Calling in Favors and Friends in Low Places to find allies and let you repeatedly bounce the Field Agents in and out of play to score free clues. You can also heal the horror from them with Medical Student, but the big win is when you find Kerosene. With two field agents down, you can now earn two free clues every time you defeat an enemy by spending a supply to remove the horror from them.

In multiplayer, you can just wait for someone else to kill something at your location, and investigate at 5-7 depending on how many boosters you have down. But it's best if you can kill things yourself. That means a weapon, and now we have a problem because the mutiple allies, kerosene, and weapon is becoming a hugely resource-intensive package. This is where .45 Thompson comes in. Every time you sleight of hand this out to take a few shots you make a resource profit. Once you manage to play it for real you can get it to refund itself and then profit more off the Swift Reload on your Stick to the Plan, and then refill it with the Cleaning Kit or Contraband if need be. But remember that Cleaning Kit can also refuel your Kerosene and the Tennessee Sour Mash if you actually bother to play it -- you usually won't need or be able to afford to, but there was nothing better to put in the Underworld Market, and it does pump the payout of Cheat the System.

Almost the entire rest of the deck is just economy and consistency. Friends in Low Places gets Versatile for "Trick", so that we can pull Sleight of Hand, Easy Mark, and Cheat the System in to recoup our expenses.

You don't have any commits or explicit mythos protection but you do have huge batteries of health and sanity and passive 5/6/6/2 stats when fully set up.

Variant Ideas:

Alice Luxley is cute, but unnecessary. You could run Beat Cop or Grete Wagner for fighting help or a Chuck Fergus if you want to lean harder on tricks and tactics. The synergy package is also cute but expendable. You could put the XP from Cheat the System toward Pay Day instead and take the Tennessee Sour Mash out of the Underworld Market.

You could also consider switching from trick-based to spirit-based economy and using Friends in Low Places to grab the Motivational Speech and Glory you already run, plus maybe some Stand Together or "I've had worse…". And throw in Gang Up for boss kills if you're still running synergy.

Team Interaction:

We can tweak this a bunch of ways for multiplayer depending on what your group needs from you. You can dump resources on your friends with Bank Job and Faustian Bargain and even add Stand Together and prioritize upgrades to that and to Ever Vigilant.

You don't currently have an explicit way to tank damage for your team, but could add "Let me handle this!" or First Watch or something. Amusingly if you're very scared of agility treacheries you can also run and tutor for "You handle this one!", as it is a trick. Teamwork also has a lot of interesting possibilities here, such as donating your Field Agents to a cluever-ally so they benefit from the static boost while your follow them around with Safeguard and refresh everyone with Kerosene. You can also easily afford to dedicate a few Underworld Market slots backup Lockpicks and such for your friends. You could even run two .45 Thompson and stick Teamwork on Stick to the Plan, planning to arm a more dedicated fighter before yourself.

If your team doesn't need you close by then you're self-sufficient enough to give Lone Wolf a go, also.

Level 0 ideas:

You don't have Field Agent or Kerosene at level 0, or at best 1 of each, so the core clue engine isn't going to be reliable. You also lack the Underworld side deck, the trick-based economy, and the Geas which prevents you from skill use. Probably you run Daring, Perception, and Overpower for draw, Take the Initiative, Evidence! and Scene of the Crime for high-shroud locations, and On the Hunt or Kicking the Hornet's Nest to be sure you have something to kill when you don't feel like testing stat vs shroud. You can use the thompsons or add them for free when you get the underworld market and start with whatever level 0 weapons you prefer.

Luxury ideas:

Ever Vigilant, Cleaning Kit, Contraband, and Emergency Cache all have nice upgrades. You could take even more charisma and more allies, I guess. Haste ain't bad with a big gun that pays you to shoot it. The Star • XVII makes your Field Agent recursion more efficient if you can find it quickly. You could go for a Clever variant on Friends in Low Places to set up guaranteed Calling in Favors. Maybe set to Trick or Trick and Favor instead of Ally. Pay Day is better than some of the other junk in your market. Honed Instinct with Impulse Control and Muscle Memory would also further compress setup.

Haha! Excellent write up. This deck sounds awesome! Thank you, I dig the field + Kerosene combo. Nuts.
